New music video and refreshed EPs

I have new announcements and some info on what's coming next! Let's start with the best and most exciting part:

  • A new music video featuring me performing "The First Time" from the Northwest album is up on YouTube! It took me a year to put this together, and I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but I did it! Sorry, it's shot in my living room studio, not on a fancy stage, but hey, it's a start. Maybe one day I'll have a real band going.

  • What's being performed live: lead vocal, Alesis Wireless Vortex 2 keytar controlling Roland MKS-50 and DSI Mopho X4 analog synths (the latter being processed through analog chorus and delay pedals seen in the video).

  • What was pre-recorded and being played by the DAW: background vocals, Celtic/folk harp, all other synths and beats.

I really hope you enjoy it! It should be fun to watch.

Now on to other things:

  • Now that Tidal has fixed the upload issues with my older "ShaYne" music being sent to the wrong artist profile, I've refreshed The Fireplace and Asphalt Repaved with 96kHz/24-bit studio-quality versions. This won't affect anything if you listen through Spotify (which doesn't offer hi-fi audio), but if you listen through Apple Music, Tidal, or Amazon Music, you may notice enhanced sound quality, especially if you listen through a computer with a good DAC and sound system. BandCamp already had 96/24 uploads so no changes there.

  • Eventually I will be refreshing #GradTime and Broader Range as well with enhanced versions, but I have to make some tweaks to fix mixing problems on a few tracks, so they won't be ready till the end of the year most likely.

  • I also recently refreshed The Hero with a 24-bit version, but since it was originally recorded at 44.1kHz, it won't sound as crisp as the newer releases. Tidal is missing one track, however, and I can't figure out how to fix it yet. Stay tuned.

  • Last but not least, I'm almost done writing lyrics for a new Cellular Signal song! It's been over a year since there's been any new material as I've been extensively working with the back catalog, but I'm excited about where this is going. Probably won't get started till the holidays, with a release for early next year. My songs have complex arrangements and they take a while to produce.

Thank you for supporting Cellular Signal, and please, please, check out the video above if you haven't already. Cheers!
